Amiens, France – The future of French boxing will be on display at the upcoming Ceintures d’Amiens Métropole boxing tournament, scheduled for April 16th, 17th and 18th at the Coliseum. Two young fighters from the Amiénois Boxing Club, Housni Zahlag and Aro Ahmadyan, are poised to lead the charge, showcasing the growing talent within the region.
At just 17 years old, Housni Zahlag has quickly turn into a name to watch in the sport. A two-time champion of the Hauts-de-France region, winner of the 2025 Ceintures Vikings tournament, and recently crowned the 2026 French champion, Zahlag boasts an impressive record of 24 wins in 25 fights. This rapid ascent has earned him consideration for a spot on the French under-22 national team, despite his young age. He will compete in the 65 kg weight class, following a prior appearance in a new weight category at the Ceintures Vikings event.
Another key athlete to watch is Aro Ahmadyan, 20, who has already secured 18 victories in 20 professional bouts. Ahmadyan’s accolades include winning the Shepens belt in Dunkerque in 2024, claiming victory at the KZO tournament in Saint-Nazaire, and reaching the final at Lemmer. He’s eager to perform in front of his home crowd. His team notes, “Aro is a boxer who isn’t yet accustomed to the tournament format, with multiple fights over a single weekend, but he is making significant progress.”

Mathis Mebarki, 21, with 17 fights under his belt (11 wins, 1 draw, 5 losses), is continually refining his style and demonstrating increasing confidence in the ring. Enzo Clery, also 21, captivates audiences with his aggressive boxing style, consistently delivering exciting and action-packed matches. Kenzy El Manouzi represents a boxer with significant potential. With 5 wins in 6 fights, and her only defeat coming against the current French champion, El Manouzi is at a pivotal point in her career – too experienced for novice competition, yet still developing the skills needed to contend at the highest levels. Her team anticipates rapid development in the coming season.
