The friction began when Brady dismissed professional wrestling during an appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, characterizing it as “cute” but ultimately lacking the competitive edge of American football. “It’s cute. I love WWE. It’s very cute. But, honestly, Here’s like real football, real competition,” Brady said, according to Boston.com. His comments sparked a swift response from numerous WWE Superstars, including CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Paul Heyman, and Oba Femi, who challenged Brady’s assessment of their athleticism.
The most pointed critique came from Seth Rollins, who during an appearance on the UnSportsmanLike podcast, directly questioned Brady’s willingness to participate in WrestleMania. “I don’t think Tom Brady has the guts. I don’t think he has the guts to indicate up and do anything at WrestleMania,” Rollins stated. He accused Brady of being a critic from afar, predicting he would “go play flag football, place on a suit, get in the booth and be great at it,” rather than face the physical demands of a wrestling match.
Rollins went further, asserting his confidence in defeating Brady in a wrestling contest. “I can guarantee I would fight Tom Brady and he wouldn’t have a chance against me… Tom, all the respect in the world, Hall of Fame quarterback, first ballot, multiple Super Bowl champion, MVP, all the accolades. He’s really gotten fine in his second season as a commentator. I love listening to him. Brother, you’re not getting in the ring at WrestleMania. He doesn’t have the guts. He doesn’t have the guts. He’s not as ‘cute’ as he thinks he is. That’s all I’ll say.”

Meltzer reported that the interactions between Brady and Paul, including a moment during the Fanatics Flag Football Classic where Brady hit Paul with a football, were “clearly to build it.” He confirmed negotiations are underway, though a deal is not yet finalized. “From what I have been told, they are in negotiations with Tom Brady,” Meltzer said. “But there is absolutely not a deal at this point for Tom Brady. So it could happen.”
The potential for Brady’s involvement at WrestleMania 42 is further heightened by the event’s location: the stadium of the Las Vegas Raiders, a team in which Brady holds an ownership stake.
