Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the Hawks’ offensive charge, finishing with 26 points. The Hawks maintained a comfortable lead throughout the majority of the period, ultimately securing a decisive victory. Atlanta shot efficiently from the field, connecting on 49 of 92 attempts (53%) and 25 of 54 from beyond the arc (46%).
With the win, Atlanta improved to 40-32 on the season, positioning themselves firmly in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. They entered the game in sixth place, just half a game behind the Toronto Raptors, who were playing at Utah on Monday evening. The Hawks’ schedule continues to be challenging as they navigate the final stretch of the regular season.
For the Grizzlies, GG Jackson led the scoring with 26 points, followed by Tyler Burton with 20, Ty Jerome with 17, and Walter Clayton Jr. With 16. However, Memphis struggled from three-point range, shooting just 33% (14 of 43) from beyond the arc. The loss was their 11th in the last 12 games, with their only win in that span coming against the Denver Nuggets on March 18.
The Hawks’ victory was particularly impressive considering they were without Jalen Johnson due to left shoulder inflammation. Memphis was likewise dealing with absences, as Cedric Coward missed his third straight game for personal reasons, and Ja Morant, Brandon Clarke, and Jahmai Mashack remain sidelined due to injuries.
