While Indykaila News doesn’t have a consistent track record for accuracy, the rumor has gained traction, picked up by other media outlets and, notably, by Liverpool fans who appear increasingly frustrated with their team’s performance this season. Many wouldn’t object to Slot’s departure to the Dutch capital.
But, there’s a condition attached: fans want Slot to bring Cody Gakpo with him. Social media posts reflect this sentiment, with one user stating, “If Ajax take Slot, Michael Edwards, and Gakpo from us, I’ll change my profile picture to the Ajax logo for twelve months.” Another wrote, “Slot is quality, but clearly not a fit for Liverpool. He can take Gakpo with him.” Others simply asked, “Would they even want Gakpo?” and “I hope he leaves and takes Gakpo with him.”
Frustration with Gakpo
