Barcelona, Spain – The 2025-2026 Barcelona J70 Winter Series concluded this weekend, bringing to a close an intense season that has drawn some of the world’s top international J70 teams to the Catalan capital since September. The regatta also serves as a prelude to the spring sailing season.
The Real Club Náutico de Barcelona hosted the series, which has become a key event on the European winter sailing calendar. This year’s edition saw significant international participation, with nearly 30 teams from 15 countries competing, solidifying the circuit’s global appeal and the reputation of the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona as a premier sailing destination.
After six series and 51 races completed – with teams able to discard their worst eight results – the HSN Sailing Team emerged as the overall champion with 150 points. Noticia finished in second place with 218 points, even as Bodega Can Marlès secured third with 238 points. Rounding out the top five were Let it Be (333 points) and Correa Kessler (493 points).
The final series featured a maximum of 12 races over three days, with a limit of four races per day. The competition was fierce, testing the skills and strategy of each crew as they navigated the waters off Barcelona.
The J70 fleet will continue its competition in a third act, coinciding with the opening weekend of the 53rd Trofeo de Vela Conde de Godó. This year’s Conde de Godó will, for the first time, dedicate an entire weekend exclusively to the J70 Monotype class, highlighting the growing popularity of the class.
The Barcelona Winter Series 2025-2026 has firmly established itself as a leading circuit in Europe for the J70 class.
