BUENOS AIRES – A reunion of former Manchester United teammates took place in Argentina recently. Weeks ago, Patrice Evra and Park Ji-sung traveled to visit their friend Carlos Tevez, now the manager of Talleres de Córdoba. Tevez made time in his schedule to welcome them to the home he shares with his family, and the visiting pair were clearly impressed, sharing a video tour of the Argentine’s impressive mansion. The tour revealed a collection of football shirts, a sand-filled pool, and a foosball table modeled after La Bombonera stadium.
Carlos Tevez, Patrice Evra, and Park Ji-sung played together at Manchester United between 2007 and 2009, forging a strong friendship. The trio celebrated a Champions League title together in 2008, defeating Chelsea. Despite the passage of time and diverging career paths, they’ve maintained their bond, and this recent visit was a deliberate effort to strengthen it further. Evra and Park traveled to Argentina to reconnect with their former colleague, enjoying conversations that were later shared on social media.
The interior of Tevez’s home was showcased in a video posted this week on TikTok, through the account Shoot for Love, which boasts nearly one million followers and almost 30 million likes. The video, described as a “tour of Carlos Tevez’s house,” was labeled “This is crazy.”
“Hello, how are you?” Tevez greeted viewers at the beginning of the video, smiling as he opened the imposing black iron gates of his mansion, revealing the garage. One of the first things viewers noticed was the marble-floored living room, furnished with wooden furniture, warm lighting, and large windows with white curtains. A television was surrounded by comfortable seating, perfect for enjoying football matches. On a countertop, the trophies Tevez won with Boca Juniors were neatly arranged.
The tour continued into the garden, where a giant Super Mario Bros.-themed inflatable was visible. However, the most striking feature was the enormous swimming pool – appearing almost like a lake – complete with its own waterfall and slide, surrounded by lush vegetation, including several palm trees. The area also included inflatables and sun loungers.
Inside the house, a long hallway featured a mural painted with images from Carlos Tevez’s career. The artwork depicted his journey from his beginnings in Fuerte Apache to his debut with Boca Juniors and his time at Corinthians. It also showcased his move to Europe and experiences with West Ham United, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Juventus, his contributions to the Argentinian national team, and his return to Boca Juniors, where he finished his playing career. The mural featured Tevez wearing the jerseys of all these teams.
Further inside, they reached a mini-museum where Tevez keeps some of his most prized possessions: his jerseys, many of them framed, paintings, and a customized foosball table modeled after La Bombonera stadium. Finally, they saw the heated pool with the letters “V” and “C” at the bottom, representing the names of Carlos and his wife, Vanesa Mansilla, before concluding the day with an asado (barbecue) prepared by the host. The video quickly went viral, accumulating almost three million views on TikTok.
The bond between Tevez, Evra, and Park extends beyond their shared success at Manchester United. Their 2008 Champions League victory remains a highlight for all three players, and their enduring friendship speaks to the camaraderie forged during their time together. The impromptu reunion in Argentina is a testament to the lasting impact of their time as teammates and the value they place on their personal connections. It’s a reminder that even after careers take different paths, the relationships built on the pitch can endure.
Tevez is currently managing Talleres de Córdoba, and the visit from his former teammates provided a welcome break from his coaching duties. The images and videos circulating online offer a glimpse into the life of a successful footballer and manager, and the warmth of a friendship that has stood the test of time. The mansion itself, with its lavish amenities and personal touches, reflects Tevez’s personality and his appreciation for the game he loves.
As Tevez continues his managerial career with Talleres, and Evra and Park pursue their respective endeavors, their recent reunion serves as a reminder of the power of friendship and the enduring legacy of a special team. The next challenge for Tevez will be preparing his squad for their upcoming match against [Opponent to be confirmed], as they continue their pursuit of success in the Argentinian league.
