Daugavpils, Latvia – The Daugavpils Sporta Skola (Daugavpils Sports School) delivered a dominant performance at the Latvian U15 Wrestling Championships, held March 7th at the Daugavpils Olympic Center. The success continued for the home team in Greco-Roman wrestling, with Daugavpils Sporta Skola again taking the team title. Rēzeknes Bērnu un jaunatnes sporta skola (Rezekne Children and Youth Sports School) secured second place, and Liepājas Kompleksā sporta skola (Liepaja Complex Sports School) finished third.
Women’s Freestyle: Riga Claims Top Honors
The women’s freestyle competition saw a different outcome, with Rīgas Sporta skola “Rīdzene” emerging victorious in the team standings. Daugavpils Sporta Skola earned a commendable second-place finish, followed by Krāslavas novada sporta skola (Krāslava District Sports School) in third.

Several individual wrestlers distinguished themselves during the championships. Ričards Tensbergs was recognized as the top performer in freestyle wrestling, while Karolina Karpenko earned the honor in women’s freestyle. Kristers Freimanis was named the best Greco-Roman wrestler of the tournament.
