Ahn Se-young Exhibition & Badminton Festival 2026: Sign-Ups Now Open!

INCHEON, South Korea – Badminton enthusiasts are gearing up for the 2026 Samsung Life Insurance Badminton Festival, scheduled for May 9-10 at the Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon. Registration for participation opens this Monday, March 16th, at 2 p.m. KST and closes on March 17th at 5 p.m. KST, offering amateur players a unique opportunity to share the court with some of South Korea’s biggest badminton stars.

The festival, designed to promote the sport and foster a healthy sporting culture, promises a weekend of competitive play and fan engagement. Last year’s event proved highly popular, with applications closing quickly due to high demand, according to organizers.

Participation in the Samsung Life Badminton Festival requires a fee of 60,000 won per team of two. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each category: first place receives a Yonex racket, second place a Yonex bag and third place a Yonex mini pouch.

A major draw for fans will be the opportunity to observe stars like Ahn Se-young, Seo Seung-jae, and Kim Won-ho in action. All three Samsung Life Insurance players are scheduled to participate in an exhibition game and autograph session on the opening night of the festival, May 9th, at 10 p.m. KST. This event will provide a close-up experience for fans to interact with their favorite athletes.

“It will be a sports festival where amateur players who love badminton can hang out together,” said an official from Samsung Life Insurance. “We look forward to the interest and participation of many amateur players.”

Ahn Se-young, currently 23 years old, continues to make waves in the world of badminton. She recently tied with Japan’s Kento Momota for the most wins in a single season (2019) with 11 victories this year, according to reporting from The Korea Herald. Her impressive 2025 season included 73 wins and only 4 losses, boasting a 94.8% winning rate – surpassing previous records held by badminton legends Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei.

The festival comes after a period of significant success for Ahn Se-young, including a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Recent reports have also highlighted challenges she has faced throughout her career, including past instances of unfair treatment and misdiagnosis of injuries. These experiences have fueled her determination and solidified her position as a leading figure in the sport.

Interested participants can find more information and register for the 2026 Samsung Life Badminton Festival through the official website: www.samsungbadminton.co.kr. The event promises to be a highlight for badminton fans in South Korea and a celebration of the sport’s growing popularity.
