Inter Bogotá vs Medellín: League Leaders Clash

Bogotá International continues its streak. The team led by Ricardo Valiño defeated Independiente Medellín, that still has not achieved victory and complicates its present, and became co-leader of the BetPlay League. The match, valid for the fifth day, was played at the Atanasio Girardot.

Moncada gives Inter an advantage

The first play came at minute 1 with a mid-range shot by Kevin Parra that was saved by the local goalkeeper. The visitors continued attacking and in the 6th minute managed to open the scoring after a great filtered pass from Larry Vásquez to assist Dereck Moncada, who entered the area and took a cross shot to beat goalkeeper Salvado Ichazo.

Independiente Medellín was close to the tie and even took possession of the ball. First with a shot from Esneyder Mena that Wuilker Fariñez saved with quality and then with a free kick by Francisco Chaverra that again remained in the hands of the visiting goalkeeper.

Those led by Ricardo Valiño took advantage of a counterattack and with three minutes left in the first half, they got the second. Facundo Bone sent a pass over the top of the defense, which connected again Derek Moncada, who without letting it fall, took a new shot that beat the DIM goalkeeper.

DIM tries, but can’t

For the second half, Independiente Medellín came out with a different attitude, tried to have more prominence and was close to the discount. Didier Moreno had a clear shot with a volley that hit the outside of the net. As the minutes passed, DIM lost intensity, while Internacional de Bogotá defended its advantage.

At minute 75, the central judge ordered a penalty in favor of Poderoso after a foul by Dannovi Quiñones on Diego Moreno. Francisco Fydriszewski asked for the ball and charged to the left post, but it was saved by Wuilker Fariñez. However, the charge had to be repeated due to the goalkeeper’s advance. This time Leyser Chaverra charged to the other post and the Venezuelan, who guessed the direction again, could not save it.
