Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase faces new accusations of fixing pitches to benefit bettorsaccording to a new document filed Thursday.
Clase is accused of throwing suspicious balls to benefit those who bet on him in at least 48 games, according to ESPN. The initial indictment filed in November accused Clase of fixing pitches in specific games between May 2023 and June 2025.

Fox News reached out to Class’s attorney for comment.
Clase has pleaded not guilty to charges that he accepted bribes to help bettors win bets on his pitches. He was released on $600,000 bail, surrendered your passport, and was ordered to limit your travel to New York and Ohio, refrain from gambling, and submit to GPS surveillance.
According to the indictment, Clase began soliciting and receiving bribes and kickbacks in exchange for releasing certain pitches in April. In one case, according to the indictment, Clase used his phone in the middle of a game to coordinate with a bettor about a shot he was going to make.
Bettors reportedly won $400,000 on betting platforms for Class launches between 2023 and 2025.

Clase’s attorney, Michael, said in October that Clase maintained his innocence.
«Emmanuel Clase has dedicated his life to baseball and you have done everything in your power to help your team win,” he said at the time.
Clase and his teammate Luis were involved in the alleged plot. Ortiz allegedly joined the plot in June 2025.
Ortiz’s attorney, Christos N. Georgalis, filed the document Thursday, alleging that federal prosecutors are leveling accusations against Clase and requesting that his client’s case be handled separately from Clase’s.
