Press Release – Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality
Büyükşehir Basketball will host the Eskişehir representative on Saturday, February 7, at 18.00 at the Atatürk Indoor Sports Hall. Before the critical match, the team continues its training at an intense pace under the management of Head Coach Sinan Çambel.
CONTINUING THE STREAK AT HOME
Metropolitan Basketball, which suffered defeat for the first time last week after a period of approximately 4 months, including preparation matches, wants to continue its unbeaten streak in the home field with this match. It was stated that the work continues with the full team, except for Egemen Usta, who is injured in the team.
“WE ARE TAKING CONFIDENT STEPS ON THE ROAD TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP”
Evaluating the course of the season, Head Coach Çambel reminded that they passed the first half without any losses and said:
“We passed the first half without a loss. We suffered our first defeat in the second half. We have not strayed from our path with a loss. We are now taking firm steps towards the championship. I believe that we will return to our old route with the Eskişehir match, with the return of our injured players.”

“LET’S FILL THE HALL TOGETHER ON SATURDAY”
Stating that playing in Sakarya was a separate motivation for them, Çambel drew attention to the importance of the support of the stands:
“It is very valuable for us that families and children come to the hall and support us. I would like to thank our fans for the support they have given so far. We want to fill the hall at 18.00 on Saturday and win with the enthusiasm of our fans.”

TARIK ÇOLAK IN FRONT OF SAKARYA AUDIENCE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Tarık Çolak, who joined the team during the interim transfer period, stated that he was excited to play in front of Sakarya fans for the first time. Çolak said, “I am very happy to join this team. Everyone knows how famous Sakarya fans are. It is a city that loves basketball… Hopefully, together with our fans and the whole city, we will carry this team to the top league, to the places it deserves.”

“OUR TARGET IS THE CHAMPIONSHIP”
Aydın Şirin, one of the scorers of the team, emphasized that last week’s defeat did not change the goals and said, “We had a small accident on the road last week, but it never diverted us from our goal. Our goal is the championship… We need the strong support of our fans on Saturday.”
“IF THERE ARE NO FANS, WE ARE ONE PERSON LESS ON THE FIELD”
Ömer Alp Engin, one of the young players, invited all basketball fans from Sakarya to the stands and repeated the call, saying, “If there are no fans, we are one person short on the field. Their support gives us great strength.”
By winning the Eskişehir match, Büyükşehir Basketball wants to both renew its morale and continue its championship march with its fans.
