Two days before the transfer market closes, the Boston Celtics could put pressure on themselves to recover a pivot and thus strengthen their interior sector.
When you defy all odds to place yourself on the podium of a very open conference, it makes you want to be aggressive to climb even higher.
This is exactly the situation in which the Celtics find themselves currently: they seemed destined for a year of transition (injury to Jayson Tatum, departure of several executives), but currently have the third best record in the East (31 wins – 18 losses) thanks to a collective ++ guided by the exploits of Jaylen Brown.
Second offense and tenth defense, the Celtics are one step away from going from “scratch” to “potential contender” (especially if Jayson Tatum returns). They are therefore looking to strengthen themselves in the racket according to The Athletic.

Despite the superb season of starting center Neemias Queta, Boston’s rotation remains limited in the paint.
An Anfernee Simons + draft capital package can allow the C’s to get back a solid interior, with Simons having a $27 million salary on his expiring contract. The question is whether Boston is ready to recruit a pivot with a long-term contract (therefore more expensive) or rather a short-term solution. The Greens are currently above the luxury tax, but do not necessarily plan to save to go below it.
Nikola Vucevic, Jusuf Nurkic, Myles Turner, Daniel Gafford, Nicolas Claxton, Day’Ron Sharpe, Yves Missi… here are so many names that have been thrown around in rumors with the Celtics.
