From now on, Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD are part of Football for the Goals, a United Nations initiative that mobilizes the football sector to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.
This recognition follows the work carried out by Benfica within the scope of its sustainability strategy Redy – Winning in Every Field, which guides the integration of environmental, social and good governance principles in all areas of the Club and Benfica SAD.
The Benfica Foundation, which already belonged to the Football for the Goals program, has played a decisive role in promoting actions with social and community impact. With the now formalized membership of the Club and Benfica SAD, the entire institutional structure of Sport Lisboa e Benfica is now aligned with this global commitment of the United Nations.
Manuel de Britovice-president of Sport Lisboa e Benfica and executive administrator of Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD with responsibility for the area of sustainability, highlights the importance of this partnership.

On the part of United Nationsthe integration of Benfica is also seen as a relevant step to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs through football.
