Montreal with Juraj Slafkovský lost on the ice of Minnesota 3:4 after extra time, Dalibor Dvorský and his St. Louis lost to Nashville 5:6.

Pavol Regenda was not happy about the victory either, as San Jose lost in Chicago 3:6. Calgary with Martin Pospíšil was not enough for Toronto 2:4.

Fehérváry returned to the Capitals lineup after missing the duel with Carolina (4:3) due to the birth of a daughter.

Washington was losing after an intervention by Mathew Barzal in the opening period, and it was the Slovak defender who tied the game at 1:1 in the 26th minute.

Fehérváry exchanged the puck with Tom Wilson and beat visiting goalkeeper David Rittich with a sharp shot from between the circles.

He dedicated the goal to his daughter and girlfriend

“It’s a special moment. I dedicate the goal to my daughter and friend Natália, who handled it all fantastically. I’m very happy that I scored right after returning from missing the match because I was at the birth of my daughter and I feel great,” said Fehérváry in a post-match interview for the club’s website.

It was his fourth goal of the season.

“Some of the guys said before the game that I would have special fatherly power, that they also managed to score a goal after the birth of the child and they were right.

The important thing is that we played a good match, that we won and I enjoyed it a lot. When we play together and at the highest level, we can beat any team in the league. We have to play this way every game,” added the Slovak defender.

Anthony Beauvillier scored the winning goal 31 seconds after his intervention, and Nic Dowd and John Carlson sealed Washington’s win in the final period.

Fehérváry spent 19 minutes on the ice and scored two plus points, a point and two blocks.

Canadian NHL scoring Information about Slovaks in the NHL

The Capitals’ victory was picked up by Clayton Stevenson, who made 29 saves and did a good job of stopping the injured goaltending duo of Logan Thompson and Charlie Lindgren.

Montreal lost in Minnesota

Kirby Dach gave Montreal a 3-2 lead at the beginning of the final period, but Minnesota’s Brock Faber forced overtime. With his second goal in the match, Kirill Kaprizov decided the home team’s triumph.

Slafkovský played 18:09 minutes and scored two shots on goal.

“It was a good game, there were a lot of chances on both sides and I believe the crowd enjoyed it. Montreal is a good team, it’s a valuable win,” Kaprizov told nhl.com.

Quinn Hughes scored three assists for the Wild, and as the third fastest defenseman, he reached the goal of 400 points in the NHL.

He needed 484 games to do it, before only Bobby Orr (437) and Paul Coffey (464) achieved it. Hughes scored in the ninth game in a row, tying Kaprizov’s club record from the end of 2022.

St. Louis in Nashville did not keep a four-goal lead 5:1. Steven Stamkos completed the home team’s turnaround, who equalized in the 48th minute and scored the winning goal three minutes later.

“Sometimes nothing goes well at all, but the whole thing can suddenly turn around, and that’s the beauty of sport,” said Stamkos, who is the NHL’s leader with nine game-winning goals.

With 609 goals, he moved into 20th place in history, ahead of Dino Ciccarelli, and is just one hit short of tying Bobby Hull (610).

Ryan O’Reilly scored two goals, Roman Josi had four assists and Luke Evangelista had three. Juuse Saros started the duel in the Predators’ goal, but in the 24th minute, after a goal by Colton Parayk, who scored for the first time in the season, he was replaced by Justus Annunen, who did not score again.

Dvorský played almost 17 minutes for the guests, scored a “minus”, a shot on goal and a 33.3 percent success rate on throw-ins.

San Jose is not doing well

Regenda was also in action for San Jose, returning to the lineup after being a healthy substitute.

He spent 11:23 minutes on the Blackhawks ice, during which he received a two-minute penalty for tripping, presented himself with a shot on goal and five points.

The Sharks lost for the third time in a row, while Chicago ended its five-game losing streak. The star of the match was Iľja Mikheev, who scored a goal and added three assists.

Sharks star forward Macklin Celebrini had a goal and an assist to move into seventh place in teenage scoring with 144 points, ahead of Ron Francis (142).

Only Sidney Crosby (222), Wayne Gretzky (220), Dale Hawerchuk (194), Jimmy Carson (186), Steve Yzerman (176) and Brian Bellows (148) scored more points before their 20th birthday.

Popspíšil played just over eight minutes

Calgary was losing to Toronto 0:3, and although Nazem Kadri and Joel Farabee’s strikes made the match dramatic for the home team, in the end Bobby McMann sealed the victory for the guests with just a goal into an empty net.

Pospíšil played eight and a half minutes in the Flames jersey and scored four points. “Maple Leaf” forward William Nylander scored three points for a goal and two assists.

Buffalo continues its excellent performances, which won on the ice of Florida, the two-time defending champion of the Stanley Cup, 5:3. Goalkeeper Alex Lyon shone as he stopped 38 shots and recorded his eleventh victory in the past twelve starts.

Peyton Krebs scored a goal and added two assists, the Sabers have won seven of the past seven duels and are in the playoffs. Florida lost its fourth game in a row and is nine points short of going into the playoffs. Lyon won its ninth away game in a row and set a club record.

Latvian historical record

Sandis Vilmanis and Uvis Balinskis scored for Florida, for the first time in NHL history two Latvians scored in one game for one team. Both will represent their country at the Olympic tournament in Milan.

Pittsburgh lost 2-3 to Ottawa when veteran Claude Giroux scored five minutes and eight seconds into regulation to end the Penguins’ six-game winning streak.

Dallas won the fifth game in a row, defeating Winnipeg at home 4-3 after overtime. Defender Thomas Harley netted the winning goal. It was his sixth goal in overtime, tying John Klingberg’s mark for the club’s all-time record among defensemen.

John Gibson made 21 saves and helped Detroit to a 2-0 victory over league leader Colorado. It was his fourth shutout of the season and 28th of his career. “It was a fantastic team performance from the first player to the last,” commented Gibson.

The goals of the Red Wings were scored by Lucas Raymond and Marco Kasper, both of which were assisted by Dylan Larkin. The Avalanche went blank at home for the first time since February 4, 2025, when they did not give up a goal against Vancouver.

The Canucks played on the ice of Utah, where they lost 2:6. The star of the match was Nick Schmaltz, who recorded his third hat trick in his career, his second in the season, and also added an assist. Vancouver striker Filip Chytil did not finish the match due to injury.
