STAVELY – Canadian hockey was shaken by a tragic car accident in which three junior players died on their way to training on Monday. Talented hockey players aged 17 and 18 did not survive the conflict between a car and a tractor.
The accident happened in Stavely, Alberta, about an hour away from Calgary. According to the media, the truck driver escaped with minor injuries. Before Monday’s NHL Flames game with Toronto, a moment of silence was held in the hall for the victims of the accident, which were the players of the Southern Alberta Mustangs team.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith expressed her condolences to the survivors and teammates, as did the club for which 18-year-old JJ Wright and Cameron Casors and 17-year-old Caden Fine played.
“There are no words to express our grief. These young men were more than just hockey players – they were teammates, sons, brothers, friends and beloved members of the Mustang family. We are a family and today our family is grieving.” stated the club playing the US Premier Hockey League competition.
There are no words – only heavy hearts.

In the town hall, his representatives created a place of worship with displayed jerseys with the names of the players and three leaning hockey sticks.
The accident evoked memories in Canada of the April 2018 tragedy in which a bus carrying a youth hockey team collided with a tractor-trailer. At that time, 16 people did not survive the accident and another 13 were injured.
