Despite a strange failure by top star Kevin Durant, the Houston Rockets won their away game at the Indiana Pacers in the NBA.

The Rockets won 118:114 against last year’s finalists in the North American Basketball League and thus secured fourth place in the Western Conference.

Head coach Ime Udoka said the 37-year-old Durant suffered an ankle injury in one of the previous games when he accidentally stepped on a spectator’s foot.

In Durant’s absence, Turkish international Alperen Sengün stood out for Houston. The 23-year-old scored 39 points and also had 16 rebounds. Pascal Siakam was the Pacers’ best scorer with 27 points. Indiana remains last in the Eastern Conference after its 37th defeat in its 50th game of the season.

Surprising bankruptcy for Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves suffered a surprising defeat. Despite a strong performance from their top player Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves lost 128:137 to the Memphis Grizzlies. Edwards scored 39 points, but could not prevent the first defeat after four wins. Nevertheless, Minnesota remains in fifth place in the Western Conference.

The Grizzlies, on the other hand, ended a series of six defeats in a row, but are still well outside the playoff places.
