21 sec
The final hours of the transfer market are starting. Not only in the Belgian competition, but also in the major European competitions, it is the last chance to make a move. Follow all shifts on Transfer Deadline Day here.
Update from Scotland: Forest continue to push for Arne Engels
The interest in Arne Engels continues. Nottingham Forest has submitted a third offer to Celtic FC for the Belgian midfielder, according to reports from Scotland. That proposal could amount to around 29 million euros, with approximately a fixed transfer fee of 23 million euros and another 6 million in bonuses.
Previous offers were already rejected by Celtic, who are not giving in for the time being. But Forest continue to push for the 22-year-old Belgian on Deadline Day.
Cercle can no longer count on Gomis:
Terho leaves OH Leuven (briefly).
OH Leuven is saying goodbye to Casper Terho for the time being. The Finnish winger is loaned to Sparta Rotterdam until the end of the season, which also negotiated a purchase option. Terho only came to Leuven last summer, after a transfer from Union, but was unable to work his way into the team.
STVV stables another player in 1B:
Belgian link
There has also been movement abroad in recent hours with a clear Belgian touch. The surprising transfer of Angulo to Sunderland is apparently related to another move: Simon Adingra (ex-Union) leaves Sunderland for the Monaco of old acquaintance Pocognoli. This is a rental deal with purchase option.
A Belgian also passed through the rumor mill. Arne Engels’ name circulated on Deadline Day, but Celtic are sticking to their guns for now. The Scottish champions rejected a second offer from Nottingham Forest of around 20 million euros.
6 million for stronghold Essevee
According to L’Équipe, Marseille strengthened themselves with Tochukwu Nnadi on Deadline Day. The French top club is paying around 6 million euros (bonuses included) for the 22-year-old defensive midfielder from Zulte Waregem.
The Nigerian international has become a permanent fixture over the past two seasons and was instrumental in Essevee’s promotion. In the Jupiler Pro League he mainly stood out for his physical presence and omnipresence in midfield.
Nnadi was also on West Ham United’s radar, but OM had the final say. For Zulte Waregem it means a financial boost on Deadline Day.
We would also like to provide this reinforcement for Cercle Brugge:
Anderlecht also has to watch how the file of Moussa Ndiaye will evolve in the coming hours. The 23-year-old full-back is on his way to Schalke 04. This is a loan until the end of the season. Although he also still has to pass medical tests.
Angulo to Sunderland?
Will Anderlecht still cash in big time on Transfer Deadline Day? Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports an agreement with Sunderland for Nilson Angulo. The deal is said to have already been completed and the medical tests of the purple and white winger who can dribble should now provide a definitive answer. A surprising twist.
Standard midfielder Hakim Sahabo moves to AEK Athens
Rwandan international Hakim Sahabo leaves Standard again after two and a half years and moves to the Greek top club AEK Athens.
The 20-year-old Sahabo went through the youth academies of Anderlecht, KRC Genk and Standard, among others. In 2021 he moved to Lille, but in the summer of 2023 he returned to Belgium, where Standard picked him up again.
The Rouches signed him at SL16 in the Challenger Pro League, but transferred him to the first team in January 2024. Since his return to Liège, the midfielder has played 24 games for SL16 and 34 games for the main squad of Standard, which loaned him to Beerschot for half a season last year.
Rennes lets top talent Kader Meïté (18) leave for Al-Hilal
French top talent Kader Meïté leaves Stade Rennes and continues his career in Saudi Arabia at Al-Hilal. Meïté, who was only 18 years old and made his debut last season, scored two goals in 13 games. In the new year he has 3 goals and 2 assists. In addition, the center forward has also collected three caps for the national promises of France.
Will Lookman become an opponent of Club Brugge?
Atletico Madrid, Club Brugge’s opponent in the interim round of the Champions League, has reached an agreement with Serie A club Atalanta to acquire Ademola Lookman. The Nigerian attacker is already in Madrid to negotiate his contract.
The 28-year-old striker played for Fulham and Leicester before moving to the Italian league. He scored three goals at the African Cup.
Interested in Matte Smets?
Genk defender Matte Smets would be of interest in the Bundesliga. Wolfsburg would have knocked on the Limburgers’ door, but for the time being the door for a transfer is not ajar. Will there be any movement in the file on the last day of the winter mercato?
