The NBA announced this Sunday the 14 substitutes (seven per conference) who will complete the 2026 All-Star Gamewhich will be played at the new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, the home of the Clippers since last season. The All-Star Game, the 75th in history, will be played next Sunday, February 15, one day after the All-Star Weekend contests.
The seven substitutes from each conference have been selected by the coaches. This year, the All Star substitutes have been chosen regardless of position:
Eastern Conference
Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Jalen Johnson (Atlanta Hawks), Karl-Anthony Towns (New York Knicks), Shutcal You (Indiana Pacers), Norman Powell (Miami Heat), Scottie Barnes (Toronto Raptors) y Jalen Duren (Detroit Pistons).
Western Conference
Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder), Kevin Durant (Houston Rockets), Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Deni Avdija (Portland rail Blazers) y LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers).
There are many debutantes among those selected (Johnson, Powell, Barnes and Duren in the East; Murray, Holmgren and Avdija in the West). Among them, the inclusion of Jamal Murray draws attention, who will be the first all-star teammate with whom Nikola Jokic shares his entire career. It is also confirmed that the record of participations followed by LeBron continue. It’s already going 22 years in a row. And the non-inclusion of Kawhi Leonard in the shortlist of those chosen in the West. Apart from the fact that he has been playing at a high level for many weeks now, because there is no one from the Clippers, the organizing franchise of the event, among the 24 chosen players.

*Antetokounmpo, injured for at least a month, will have to be replaced by another player. His replacement will be decided by Commissioner Adam Silver.
Western Conference
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (base, Oklahoma City Thunder), Stephen Curry (base, Golden State Warriors), Luka Doncic (base, Los Angeles Lakers), Victor Of the flesh (pivot, San Antonio Spurs), Nikola Jokic (center, Denver Nuggets).
Format
He November 12, 2025the NBA announced that the All Star Game will adopt a new format that will consist of facing USA (which still has a clear majority despite everything) against the rest of the world. That Sunday it will be played through a round-robin tournament with three teams: two made up of American players and one made up of international players, each with eight players, having 24 players in total.
The team from the rest of the world that will try to take glory on American soil will be made up of Jokic, Shai, Donciic, Wemby, Giannis, Murray, Avdija, Siacam y Towns. If you remove the Greek and count Towns as a foreigner (he was born in the US but plays for the Dominican Republic), there would be eight names. The process for assigning players to the two U.S. teams will be determined later.
