After her first round exit at the Australian Open, the German tennis player Ella Seidel also lost her opening match at the WTA tournament in Romania. In Cluj-Napoca, the 20-year-old from Hamburg fought Hungarian Anna Bondar in a close fight for a long time, but had to admit defeat 6:4, 6:7 (6:8), 0:6.

In doing so, Seidel also missed out on revenge for the WTA first-round duel in Hobart, Australia, which she also lost, where the German clearly failed against Bondar around two weeks ago. The German hopeful (WTA No. 82) did not prevail against Oxana Selechmetjewa (Russia) at the recent Australian Open after an extremely fluctuating performance in the first round.
