Bieffe Porcari triumphs in Siena in the surprise match on Wednesday and jumps to second place in the women’s “C” rankings. He passed the Virtus 51-34, culminating a game characterized by strong defense and increasing intensity throughout the forty minutes.
The start is balanced, with Siena trying to dictate the pace and ending the first quarter leading 12-9. However, Porcari does not allow himself to be intimidated and, in the second period, changes gear: the yellow and blue defense raises the level, led by Granata who manages to keep Wiegand out of the game. Porcari’s ardor isn’t just limited to defense; the excellent work in attack allows for a partial score of 21 to 10 and allows Porcari to go into halftime at 22-30.
Upon returning from the locker room, Porcari definitively takes control of the match. The third quarter is the key moment of the match: Siena scores only 4 points and Porcari, with his 11, manages to manage the break until the end of the match. In the final period, the players led by coach Salvioni managed with maturity, controlling the pace and score until the final 34-51. Excellent team demonstration for Porcari, with Vilardi and Bartoli leading scorers with 10 points, followed by Pellegrini and Melchino with 9. The energy of the whole group is rewarded.
With this victory, Porcari jumps to second place in the rankings, catching Siena, but with the advantage of the direct match in their favor. Qualification for the playoffs is within reach, even if it is still early to make predictions, as there is almost an entire round missing, the second round, to end the regular season. This weekend is a rest session for the yellow and blue.
Also in the first match back in the women’s “C”, an away victory also for Nuovo Basket Altopascio who beat, with an almost identical score, 51-33, Polisportiva Chimenti, in Livorno.
