After a fire alarm and the emptying of the crowd in Gävle, Skellefteå was able to turn around and win against Brynäs with 4–3 after extra time. The yellow-and-black teams beat Frölunda at the top of the table.
– Very nice, says match hero Mikkel Aagaard to TV4.
It was a bit into the second period that the fire alarm started to sound at the arena in Gävle. The stands had to be emptied of spectators, before the supporters could enter the arena again after a few minutes.
According to TV4’s commentator Lasse Granqvist, the fire alarm was triggered by a dishwasher. There has recently been a rebuilding of the arena, including the lodges, and the fire alarm has not been adapted to the new conditions.
The match then? Well, Skellefteå was able to win the match despite being at a disadvantage before the third period.
It was Jonathan Pudas who gave Skellefteå the lead already after 55 seconds. Then came three consecutive Brynäs goals in the second period to 3–1, followed by a reduction from Rickard Hugg.
With a minute left in the third period, Oscar Lindberg equalized the match, and in extra time Mikkel Aagaard decided for Skellefteå.
– I am very proud of the whole team, that we never give up. It’s really fun that we leave here with a win, says Aagaard after the victory.
At the same time, top-of-the-table Frölunda lost for the fourth game in a row against the bottom team Linköping with 3-4 at home. There is now three points between Frölunda and runner-up Skellefteå.
