Cédric Caron: LBMQ Debut | Hockey News

After completing his junior career with the Voyageurs de Jonquière, Caron reached an important stage in his sporting journey. In five seasons in the junior ranks, the alumnus of the Rivière-du-Loup high school sports-studies program posted more than impressive statistics: a cumulative record of 31 wins against 15 losses, an earned run average of 3.64, as well as 331 strikeouts in 314 innings pitched.

“It’s definitely a big step. These will not be easy shoes to fill. There are many players who have already tasted major baseball affiliates, others who have played in different professional leagues elsewhere in the world. It’s no longer junior, it’s another level. But honestly, I see it as a great challenge and I’m really looking forward to discovering the caliber of this league,” confides Caron.

His integration into Sherbrooke will be facilitated by the presence of familiar faces. He will join two former residents, Antoine Abud, from Rimouski, and Louis-Félix Pelletier, from Saint-Pascal, who will also wear the colors of the Expos next season. Baseball fans from Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac will also recognize the name of Takuto Kanno, who will also be part of the Sherbrooke team next season.

“I already know a few guys, that helped me a little. Then as you say, there will be a lot of links with Sherbrooke. If it can ever reopen certain doors, whether for fans or for younger players, so much the better. If they can come and see what the LBMQ is, the caliber of play is really good,” emphasizes Caron.
