Lucas Boulanger, from Squadron 775 of the Royal Canadian Air Force Cadets from Thetford Mines, won a bronze medal in badminton on January 24 during the Chaudière-Appalaches Cadet Games, which were held at the Polyvalente de Saint-Georges.

In total, nearly 280 young people from eleven corps and squadrons in the region competed in four disciplines, namely kin-ball, volleyball, soccer and badminton. It was in this last event that Lucas Boulanger distinguished himself, proudly representing the MRC des Appalaches.

The cadet program is aimed at young people aged 12 to 18 and offers stimulating activities promoting physical fitness in a safe and rewarding environment. This free youth organization also aims to develop civic-mindedness, leadership and team spirit.

Registrations are possible from September to May in the different cadet corps.
