Deutsches Juwel: Star Trainers Join Team

The German tennis hope Justin Engel can count on the services of one of the most successful tennis coaches in Germany in the future.

Star coach Dieter Kindlmann will work with Germany’s tennis talent Justin Engel from March 1st.

In recent years, the 43-year-old has already trained Angelique Kerber, the current world number one Aryna Sabalenka and the Russian superstar Maria Sharapova.

“Justin is one of the most interesting and best youth tennis players in the world. I am very happy to be part of the team,” quotes the dpa Kindleman.

Engel: “It fits really well”

The 18-year-old Engel is also looking forward to working with the star trainer: “We had a week of training before Christmas at the tennis base in Oberhaching. After that, it was clear to me that it would be a really good fit,” said the currently 148th in the world rankings.

Ulf Fischer will also remain part of Engel’s coaching team. Engel recently failed to qualify at the Australian Open.

Next, the German tennis hope will meet Poland’s Maks Kasnikowski at the ATP Challenger tournament in Quimper on Wednesday evening.
