Dani Caverzaschi: Australian Open Wheelchair Tennis Debut – FTM

The Madrid native Dani Caverzaschi This Wednesday, January 28, it will begin its journey in a new edition of the Australian Open in the chair tennis discipline. The tenth best racket in the ITF ranking will enter the court twice on the first day of competition in this modality.

On Court 7 and in the fourth round, Caverzaschi will face the Dutchman Tom Egberink in the individual table, seeking a place in the semifinals, and later do so again but on Court 6, where together with the Dutchman Ruben Spaargaren, he starts as the first seed in the doubles table. In that first match in pairs, they will cross rackets with the tandem formed by the Chilean Alexander Cataldo and the local tennis player Anderson Parker.

Caverzaschi, who is currently in the number 5 position in the doubles ranking, reached his first Grand Slam final in the modality in Melbourne Park just a year ago, and he did so together with the Frenchman Stephane Houdet, who in this tournament will be paired with the also Spanish Martín de la Puente, and who will be the main rivals of the Madrid native and the Dutchman Spaargaren in the fight for the title.
