Great news for Millionaires. Radamel Falcao García may be called up for the match on the third date of the BetPlay League against Deportivo Pasto (Wednesday, January 28, 8:30 pm). The Dimayor Disciplinary Committee evaluated the arguments presented by the club to partially suspend the sanction it received in June of the previous year for 4 dates.
Millonarios clung to the Single Disciplinary Code of the FCF to argue the reasons that he considered compelling for Falcao’s sanction to be partially suspended, since Dimayor in his Resolution 005 of 2026 indicated that, if a similar event is repeated, the penalty for the attacker will be reactivated again, who has already served half of it (2 games – vs. Bucaramanga and vs. Junior).
“The Player has already complied with at least half of the sanction imposed (section 3 of article 42 of the CDU of the FCF), while two dates have already passed in development of the BetPlay DIMAYOR 2026-1 League and consequently, Mr. Radamel Falcao García has already completed two (2) of the four (4) suspension dates imposed by the CDC”, one of the arguments presented by Millonarios.
The Committee’s response to the Millionaires’ request
This is what Dimayor’s CDU stated in point 10 of the Committee’s considerations. “The partial suspension of the pending sanction consisting of two (2) dates is granted to the player Radamel Falcao García Zarate, who was registered as a professional player by Club Azul & Blanco Millonarios FCSA for the BetPlay Dimayor I 2026 League.
Falcao and Millonarios will also have to comply with some commitments that are acquired after the suspension of the sanction and that they will be monitored by Dimayor, among them it is requested that the club and the player carry out campaigns in which they promote a culture of fair play, values of respect for referees, VAR and institutions that govern football.
“With regard to the conditional status period of the term of six (6) months indicated in the considering part, it is specified that, If it is found by this Committee that the Player commits a new infraction of the same or similar nature, the suspension decreed in this resolution will be revoked and the sanction will regain its force; without prejudice to the imposition of the sanction for the new disciplinary infraction,” the Resolution added.
Finally. “Likewise, the Club and the player are requested that during the period in which they are under the conditional situation measure related in the motivating part, “Send monthly reports on compliance with future commitments acquired in this process.”.
