A fire broke out at the Los Silos football ground in Burjassot on Monday, firefighters were called and the blaze is under control.
The fire service said in a statement the blaze started in the dressing rooms. Crews from Paterna and Burjassot attended the scene.
Los Silos is the historic home of Burjassot Club de Fútbol, the oldest club in Valencian football.
After decades at various grounds, including the former Camp del Basot, expropriated for the Ademuz motorway. The club opened its current facility on 29 January 1967 with a match against Atlético de Madrid, which the visitors won 11-2.
The municipal stadium holds about 2,000 and has staged regional league matches, tournaments and academy presentations.
It has also hosted community celebrations, including its anniversary and youth tournaments drawing teams from across the comarca each season.
Modest in scale compared with major arenas, Los Silos remains a focal point for Burjassot’s sporting identity.
