LINZ/LEONDING. Successful weekend for the ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding at the Austrian Judo Championships U18 and U23 in the Olympic Center on the Linzer Gugl. In the U18 age group, Samuel Farfelleder wins gold and becomes Austrian champion. On top of that, the Leofighters also received one silver and two bronze medals.
Samuel Farfeleder achieved a masterpiece at the Austrian U18 Championships on Saturday on the Linzer Gugl in the Olympic Center. The judoka from ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding wins all of his fights confidently and takes gold with Ippon in the final after just one and a half minutes. The young Leondinger is now the new Austrian U18 champion. Things are also going sensationally for 14-year-old Severin Stump. He won the bronze medal in the U18 age group. Emily Siewert and Eduardo Mogos also fought courageously on Saturday, but unfortunately they were unable to place.
The ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding continued successfully on Sunday at the Austrian championship in the U23 age group. David Doctor makes it to the final undefeated, but then narrowly loses despite an extremely strong performance after three shidos with Hansoku-make. He wins silver and is runner-up. Emma Rieder moves into the semi-finals undefeated. Unfortunately she lost there against the eventual new champion. But in the fight for bronze she succeeds in ippon after just 55 seconds and she deserves to come third.
Alex Radeanu, Liviu Cucereanu and Daniel Farfeleder came in a good seventh place, but unfortunately Eva Haller was unable to place.
„We are very proud of our starters and especially of our medal winners“, says the coaching duo Andrea and Martin Stump.
