The Pittsburgh Steelers said Saturday they have reached a verbal agreement with Mike McCarthy to serve as the team’s head coach next season.

The news was confirmed by the organization on
McCarthy led the Green Bay Packers from 2006 to 2018 as well as the Dallas Cowboys from 2020 to 2024. During the 2010 season, he led the Wisconsin team to the Super Bowl; Moreover, Aaron Rodgers worked as number 1 quarterback, he who played for the Steelers in 2025. The two men know each other very well, Rodgers having been in the Packers squad during McCarthy’s entire stay in Green Bay.
In Western Pennsylvania, the new head instructor will try to take his team higher after they suffered elimination in the first round a few weeks ago.
