This Monday, January 19, team 1 of Badminton Club La Grande-Motte (BCGM) faced the bad players of Badminton Club Pérols (BCP) away during an interclub meeting in division 1 for the 5th day.
The victory is there: 3 to 4, a result which offers 4 points in the Grands-mottois ranking. All matches took place in two sets. In men’s singles 1, Axel Goncalves won both sets hands down, as did Sophie Bernier in women’s singles, the pair Mathieu Durand and Simon Sastre in men’s doubles, without forgetting, in mixed doubles 2, the duo Simon Sastre and Esther Boudon. Only Rémi Vallez in men’s singles 2 lost, as well as the pair Esther Boudon and Carine Daudu in women’s doubles and the duo in mixed doubles 1 Sophie Bernier and Rémi Vallez, the latter had to withdraw due to an ankle injury. The team climbs to 4th place with a total of 11 points and, on the clock, 2 victories and 3 defeats.
“We had to win this match. We did it. Despite missing people from the typical line-up and an injured person, we won this match and that allows us to consolidate ourselves in this group which is not the easiest”, concludes Simon Sastre, the captain.
