The county authorities Los Angeles They investigate the death of Kevin Johnson, former player of the NFL who was found dead near a homeless encampment in the south of the city.
Johnson, 55, was found Wednesday morning in the Willowbrook area, near the 1300 block of East 120th Street and Central Avenue. According to the medical examiner’s office, he had a closed head trauma and wounds caused by a knife.
The Sheriff’s Department reported that the case remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.

The discovery occurred in an area where homeless encampments operate. About a kilometer from the scene, federal authorities reported a separate incident in which agents shot a man identified as William Eduardo Moran Carballor, identified as an undocumented violent criminal from El Salvador, after he allegedly rammed his vehicle into the police.
The authorities indicated that there is, so far, no link between that event and Johnson’s death.
Career in the NFL
Born in Los Angeles, Johnson played as tackle defensiveoy was selected by the Patriots in the third round of the 1993 NFL Draftwith the 86th pick. He was released that same year and went through practice squads before finding stability with the Eagles.
His best stage came in the 1995 season, when he played 11 games with Philadelphiarecorded six sacks, 19 tackles and recovered a fumble that he returned for a touchdown. He also participated in two playoff games. In 1996 he appeared in 12 games more before being released in December.
In 1997 He signed with the Raiders and played 15 games, his last season in the NFL. He later continued his career in Arena Football Leaguewhere he won a championship with the Orlando Predators in 1998 and was also part of the Los Angeles Avengers.
