“Come on guys, let’s get busy, we’re running out of time before the start of the league.” This could also be one of the sentences of the Spanish coach of Spartak Antonio Muňoz at the training session in Turkey. Photo: Samuel Ďurinský
What conditions did you find at the training camp in Turkey?
– The conditions were very good, also the weather until Thursday’s match with CSKA 1948 Sofia, which was not played due to heavy rain. However, we were able to do everything we planned in training. The team moved forward in the defensive and offensive activities that we trained.
You took with you a wide, up to 29-member cadre. Do you see it as a plus that you had so many players at your disposal?
– Having such a wide squad at your disposal is a privilege for a coach. The players showed that each of them can be useful for the team.
Did you manage to get to know the players mentally during the training session?
– Definitely. We spent a lot of time together in Turkey, at the end of the day I can say that the players and I are closer.

What did the matches with Korona Kielce and CSKA 1948 Sofia show you?
– In both cases, we met strong opponents. What I can say about these matches is that it doesn’t matter what opponent we play against, we will always try to play our style of football.
In the match with Korona Kielce, certain principles of the game were visible – tandem attacks on the wings, constructive play from the goalkeeper and defenders. Is this the style of play you want to present yourself with?
– From the first day that I have been with the team, we have been trying to instill certain game principles in the team. We will analyze how the players grasped them. As I said before, we want to have a dominant style of play. It does not depend on which football school, but we want to present our own football in every meeting.
In the second eleven, several young players played in non-traditional positions – Polťák, Trello, Bukovský. Was it a form of testing? Or do you see them more in these positions? And how did these young people cope?
– I am really satisfied with them. They did a good job. As for positions, we will always assign players to those positions where the team needs it and where they will be able to help the team.
What to say about 45 minutes with CSKA 1948 Sofia?
– The players fulfilled the instructions in both defense and attack, they did a good job.
Giorgi Moiscrapišvili has already started the match, but what is the situation with Roman Procházek and Libor Holík, who are also injured?
– Holík and Procházka train only individually so far, working with a fitness trainer and under the supervision of physiotherapists. They are on the right track.
Neither Lazar Stojsavljevič nor Hilary Gong played in the first game. Why?
– Lazar had a minor injury from training, Gong came to the camp later, so he was not on the roster for the first game.
Patrick Nwadike didn’t even travel to the training camp, what is the assumption of his return to the field?
– Works under the supervision of a physiotherapist. When we return to Trnava, we will see what its current situation is. In the staff, we have solutions for his position in the event of his absence.
Are you open to the arrival of new players to the team to strengthen some positions?
– Certain possibilities open up in every transfer window, but I do not primarily focus in this direction.
Will Cédric Badolo join the team after returning from training?
– We will talk to the sports director after returning to Trnava and then we will see.
