Anderlecht’s Vazquez Departs: Loan with Option to Buy

Luis Vázquez (24) finishes the season at Getafe CF. The Argentinian striker is loaned by Anderlecht to the Spanish first division club until the end of the season, with an option to purchase.

Vázquez has been active at Anderlecht since the summer of 2023. Then he switched from Boca Juniors, where he was regarded as a talented center forward in his home country.

In the purple and white, the 1.90 m tall Argentinian has played more than 110 matches so far, but his performance has remained mixed. In total he played for Anderlecht in 118 matches, in which he scored seventeen goals and four assists.

Luis Vazquez was never convincing at Anderlecht

Vázquez also had difficulty distinguishing himself this season. In the 2025/26 Jupiler Pro League he has two goals and one assist in 14 appearances.

At Anderlecht the fans had had it with the Argentinian for a long time. Criticism of his performance continued to grow, despite some moments when he came on and tried to make an impact in attack.

The Argentinian hopes to revive his career at Getafe. The Spanish club is looking for more goal power and sees Vázquez as an option to strengthen their attack, with the prospect of a permanent move if he convinces.
