Ostrava Baník’s summer signing Christian Frýdek (26) received permission from the club’s management to find a new job. He did not fly to the training session with the first team due to illness and is currently preparing with the B team, for which he started in Saturday’s friendly match against Ružomberok (4:2).
“Christian did not fly to Turkey due to illness, because he was taking antibiotics. However, he has a valid contract and should join training after the return of A. At the same time, I can confirm that he received permission to look for a job,” Baník’s press spokesman Marek Lorenc told iSport.cz.
At the same time, Frýdek came from Slovan Liberec in the summer as a player who will be the driving force of the team. He received a contract until 2028. “He fits into our overall strategy. Both in terms of his typology, the way he plays, and also in terms of character in the cabin,” sports director Luděk Mikloško reported at the time.
But after only a few training sessions it started to be interpreted in Ostrava that the former coach Pavel Hapal was not satisfied with his fighting spirit. He ended up making 16 starts during the fall, but only 775 total minutes. Recorded one assist.
Now he can leave, because even the current coach Tomáš Galásek does not count on him. And it only depends if they agree on terms with another club.

Goalkeeper Dominik Holec (31) is also looking for a new club, for whom it was a blow when he learned about Martin Jedličky (27) from Pilsen. Just like Frýdek, he didn’t even travel with Baník to training.
The placement of Patrick Kpoz (28) and Ladislav Almási (26) on the transfer list was already decided in November.
The future of the trio Christ Tiéhi (27), Eldar Šehič (25) and Alex Munksgaard (28) also remains unclear.
