Amersfoort – Gymnasts from the B selection of gymnastics club DOS Vianen claimed all podium places in two categories last Saturday.
Last Saturday, their first individual qualifying competition of this season started for seventeen gymnasts from the upper grades. In the junior G group, Tess Lagendijk, Louise de Groot and Fien Boere performed an excellent competition and the trio claimed all medals. Lagendijk won gold, De Groot silver and Boere bronze.
The gymnasts of the Viaanse association also claimed podium places in the youth H category. There was a shared first place for Joy Nijland and Imaan Nabi and Eline van der Linden completed the podium with bronze.
Bronze medals
The long competition day brought even more successes for the gymnasts and management. In the youth, supplement G, there was bronze for Doehae l’Maknin, Isa Schuurman and Jules Dufrenne managed to capture the bronze in the juniors F by finishing in a shared third place.
The DOS Vianen gymnasts who took action have made good steps towards qualification. Their second qualifying match will follow on Saturday, March 21.
Amsterdam
Last weekend team competitions were also held in Amsterdam. From the A-selection of DOS Vianen, Bo de Vos and Talitha Nzeyimana took action in a combined team with two other associations. This team performed an excellent competition in the intermediate level 3 competition and won silver.
The DOS team, consisting of Naomi and Benthe Verberne, Puck van ‘t Veen, Emy Schinkel and Simone Kranghand, was only 0.6 points short of a podium place in supplement D. They came 4th.
A team competition in this supplement D was also held on Sunday and the B-selection gymnasts Amy van den Brink and Valerie Arnold finished in 5th place in a combined team with Turn4U. Both teams in supplement D have qualified for the national semi-final teams in Almelo in mid-March.
