At 22, the young resident of Le Buquet has established himself as one of the rising figures in Saint-Pierre badminton. Member of the ESP Bad club, where he grew up sportingly, Amaury Lallier has just reached national level 3 and is now aiming for national 2, guided by motivation and passion.
If when he was a child, Amaury practiced swimming and tennis at the Amicale Laïque Buquet Elbeuf, it was at Nelson Mandela College, thanks to his sports teacher and the UNSS, that he discovered badminton at the age of 13.
A fan of racket sports and looking for competition, in 2017 he joined ESP Bad in Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf. Despite a complicated period for the club, punctuated by player departures and then the COVID crisis, Amaury and a small group of his teammates came together and “pulled upwards”.
This determination allowed them to create the only ESP Bad interclub team at the time (in 2021), to reach regional level 2 in 2024. A performance praised by the City of Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf, which awarded them the title of best Saint Pierre team in all sports combined.
Today, ESP Bad has six teams for the interclub championships and 170 licensees (record number) including players with a very good level. The club maintains the balance between conviviality and performance.
A third-year student at STAPS, management sector, the young Elbeuvien climbed the ranks, until reaching national level 3 in mixed doubles in 2025. He set this goal for himself when he joined the club in 2017. Achieving it was an immense joy and source of pride for him.
Between intensive training, weekend matches, his studies, his student contract at the university and his status as ambassador for Lardesports, a store specializing in badminton, Amaury moves forward with a new objective: to progress, again and again and to move up to national 2!
For him, the key to performance does not lie only in technique. “In addition to pleasure, the mind is 60% of the result. When we have confidence, we can achieve performance.”
Amaury describes badminton as an “explosive” sport which requires great coordination and a lot of effort, particularly on the legs and movements.
Through his commitment and success, Amaury Lallier is a model for Elbeuvian youth. He reminds us that sport is much more than a physical activity: it is a social bond and a driver of well-being.
