The 26-year-old spent most of the 2024 campaign on the San Francisco 49ers practice squad. The Californian club released him last August, at the end of his training camp.

Owens previously played five seasons in the NCAA, with the Missouri State University Bears (2021-2023) and the Florida Atlantic University Owls (2019-2020).

His famous father had a brilliant career spanning 15 seasons in the NFL. The former receiver wore the colors of the 49ers (1996-2003), the Philadelphia Eagles (2004-2005), the Dallas Cowboys (2006-2008), the Buffalo Bills (2009) and the Cincinnati Bengals (2010).

The one who received six invitations to the Pro Bowl game finished his career in the Goodell circuit with 1,078 catches for 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns. He was the receiver who scored the most touchdowns in an NFL season three times (2001, 2002 and 2006).

The Alouettes also agreed on the terms of a contract with wide receiver Phillip Brooks, who played three games with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2025.

As a punt returner, the American was named to the NCAA Big 12 Division First Team in 2020.
