FC Augsburg had to accept an extremely unusual personnel setback in today’s game against SC Freiburg. Midfielder Kristijan Jakić was substituted at half-time after sustaining an injury under strange circumstances.
The TV images show that the incident did not occur on the field, but on the way back to the field: Jakić suddenly grabbed his left calf while going down the stairs in the players’ tunnel.
This complaint made it impossible to continue playing, which is why he did not return to the pitch for the second half. Elvis Rexhbeçaj came into the game to replace him.
