The 31-year-old Bļugers has been included in the Latvian national team for participation in this year’s Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo Olympic hockey tournament.
“Canucks” will host the Edmonton “Oilers” hockey players on their field early Sunday morning Latvian time, and will meet the New York “Islanders” on Tuesday morning.
With 37 points in 47 games, the Canucks are last, 16th in the Western Conference and in the entire league.
