Michael should be a reinforcement for Santos in 2026
Little used in Filipe Luís’ Flamengo, Michael is close to being a reinforcement for Santos. This Friday (16), the team of Neymar and Gabigol announced the purchase of the red-and-black winger for 4 million dollars (R$ 21 million, at current prices).
Furthermore, Flamengo will maintain 20% of the economic rights for a future sale. If the last adjustments are resolved, Michael will sign a four-year contract with Santos. The information comes from presenter Renan Moura, from Rádio Globo.
Santos has been in the race to sign Michael for a few weeks, however, in recent days, Internacional and Corinthians entered the fight. However, the desire to play with Neymar and again with Gabigol weighed on the 29-year-old striker’s decision.
WHAT ARE MICHAEL’S NUMBER AT FLAMENGO?
Michael has two spells at Flamengo: one from 2020 to 2021, and another from 2024 to 2025. In the latter, the striker played 45 games, scored six goals and provided five assists. However, the winger lost space in Filipe Luís’ squad and came to reinforce the team made up of Garotos do Ninho in the last round of last year’s Brasileirão, against Mirassol.
WHY DID MICHAEL LOSE SPACE AT FLAMENGO?
The winger ran out of space at Flamengo due to the great competition. To play Michael’s role, the cast includes Samuel Lino, Everton Cebolinha, Carrascal, Bruno Henrique, Luiz Araújo and Plata. Furthermore, Mengão is close to finalizing the signing of Lucas Paquetá, who can play in the sector.
MICHAEL PLAY ON THE WEEKEND?
Despite reinforcing the boys team last year, Michael will not play in the State Championship this Saturday (17). Therefore, the kids face Volta Redonda at Raulino de Oliveira, with the ball rolling from 9:30 pm (Brasília time), with full coverage of the Coluna do Fla.
