Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair attracted attention during a postgame interview on ESPN by wearing eye black under his eyes with the message “Stop the Genocide.”
This appearance took place after the Texans’ victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Wild Card round.
Al-Shaair, Muslim and recently selected for his first Pro Bowl, is known for his commitment to the Palestinian cause.
He notably participated in the NFL’s “My Cause My Cleats” initiative with shoes bearing the message “Free Palestine” and supported the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
