This is the first tournament Thuy Linh has participated in since the 33rd SEA Games. Before that, she did not participate in the Malaysia Open. The Vietnamese tennis star is currently 23rd in the world rankings.
Sindhu, meanwhile, is ranked 12th in the world and was world champion in 2019. She also won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympics.
