Texier Signs: Canadiens 2-Year Contract Extension

French hockey forward Alexandre Texier signed a new two-year contract with NHL club Montreal Canadiens. It will bring him a total of $5 million with an average annual salary of $2.5 million.

Texier arrived in Montreal in November 2025 after finishing early in St. Louis Blues. He agreed with the Canadiens management on a contract until the end of the ongoing 2025/2026 season with an annual salary of one million dollars.

In his new place of work, he immediately settled in and found a stable place in the elite formation next to captain Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.

He replaced Slovak winger Juraj Slafkovský in it, who got in shape after coach Martin St. Louis included in the second attack to Ivan Demidov and Oliver Kapanen.

Twenty-six-year-old Texier played 25 games in the current season in the “Habs” jersey, in which he collected 16 Canadian points for 7 goals and 9 assists.

Previously, he played eight games for the Blues and recorded one assist. Before working in St. Louis played for the Columbus Blue Jackets, who drafted him in 2017. The official website of the Canadiens brought the information.
