RSC Anderlecht sees Marco Kana as an absolute pillar for the future. The Purple & White wants to retain the 23-year-old defender for the long term and let him develop into the face of the Brussels back line. Everything within the club is currently being done to make that scenario a success.
Anyone who had predicted six months ago that Besnik Hasi would breathe a sigh of relief upon the return of Kana might have laughed. Yet that is the reality today. Under Hasi, Kana became a permanent fixture at Anderlecht, while his absence immediately caused defensive unrest.
Sporting director Olivier Renard and co are currently also focusing strongly on contract extensions within the core. Marco Kana is at the very top of the list. According to The Last Hour Kana is about to sign a new contract of no less than five seasons.
This agreement would also be accompanied by a significant financial upgrade. A logical reward for his strong performance in the heart of the defense, where he rarely falls through the ice. He must therefore become the patron at the back in the coming seasons, unless an offer that cannot be refused comes from abroad.
In episode 24 of the second season of Tijd voor Voetbal, they discuss the Golden Shoe for Ardon Jashari, Nathan De Cat who is crowned Talent of the Year and they also look back on the first days of the transfer period. That and much more in Time for Football.
