Seven months after the election of Amélie Oudéa-Castéra as president, the French National Olympic and Sports Committee is beginning a new shift. As of March 1, Édouard Donnelly will replace Skander Kaara as general director of the institution. A choice recruit, while on February 22, on the evening of the closing ceremony of the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games, the French Alps will recover the Olympic flag as organizers of the next Winter Games in 2030.
For two and a half years, Édouard Donnelly held the strategic position of executive director of operations within Paris 2024. Previously, he was general director of the organizing committee for the World Handball Championships, in France, in 2017 before co-founding Keneo, a consulting firm specializing in major sporting events and events.
From January 15, and until he takes office on March 1, Édouard Donnelly will serve as special advisor to Amélie Oudéa-Castéra. Skander Kaara will therefore be in post until the day after the Milan Games. « Skander led the work of the CNOSF teams with great mastery and commitment and facilitated, alongside me, the establishment of the new governance and the deployment of the first achievements of the mandate, reacts Amélie Oudéa-Castéra in a press release. The day after the Milan-Cortina Games will open a new cycle for the CNOSF, which will benefit from the economic and digital expertise and project management skills of Édouard Donnelly.”
