The Houston Texans have reached the playoff quarterfinals in the NFL – and thus perhaps ended the career of veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Houston won the last game of the wild card round against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday night with a comfortable score of 30:6. They will now face the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round.
“I won’t make any emotional decisions,” said the 42-year-old Rodgers about his sporting future immediately after the game: “It’s disappointing to sit here and the season is over. I’ll just distance myself and then have the right conversations.”
Rodgers and the Steelers failed in front of their own crowd, mainly because of the Texans’ defense, which sacked the quarterback four times and scored two touchdowns after turnovers in the fourth quarter. Rodgers only completed 17 passes on 33 attempts and threw for just 146 yards.
In the other quarterfinals, Denver will face Buffalo, Seattle will face San Francisco and Chicago will face the LA Rams.
