Mike McDaniel: Browns Head Coach Candidate?

The Cleveland Browns will interview Mike McDaniel on Monday for a vacant head coaching position, the team announced.

The Browns fired coach Kevin Stefanski last week and McDaniel became available last Thursday when the Miami Dolphins showed him the exit door.

McDaniel spent four seasons as head coach of the Dolphins and led the team to a 35-33 overall record.

The Dolphins, however, have played below .500 the last two seasons and Miami finished the 2025 campaign with a 7-10 record, the worst performance since McDaniel took over.

In recent days, the Browns also announced that they had interviewed Tommy Rees (offensive coordinator of the Browns), Jim Schwartz (defensive coordinator of the Browns), Dan Pitcher (offensive coordinator of the Bengals), Aiden Durde (defensive coordinator of the Seahawks) and Todd Monken (offensive coordinator of the Ravens).

The Browns finished last season in last place in their division with a 5-12 record.
