Wheelchair basketball will mark the beginning of parasports in the National and Para National Games Limón 2026with competition scheduled from this Tuesday, January 13 in the canton of Guácimo.
The teams of the Cantonal Sports and Recreation Committee (CCDR) of Puntarenas, Heredia and Alajuela will compete for the gold, silver and bronze medals in the 42nd edition of the national and paranational fairs.
The matches will be held in the Gymnasium of the School of Excellence Juan Ferraro Doubles, official headquarters of this discipline during the event.
The opening day will take place this Tuesday with three games: Puntarenas against Heredia at 9:00 am; Heredia in front of Alajuela at 1:30 pm; and Alajuela against Puntarenas at 6:00 pm
The competition will continue on Wednesday, January 15 with the duels between Alajuela and Heredia at 9:00 am; Heredia against Puntarenas at 1:30 pm; and Puntarenas in front of Alajuela at 6:00 pm
The organization confirmed that All three teams have women on their rosters, so the tournament will be played in mixed mode.
Wheelchair basketball will maintain the same conditions as conventional basketball, both in the dimensions of the court and the height of the hoops, set at 3.05 meters. Each match will be played in four 10-minute periods.
