Domestic Violence: Baseball Bat Assault & Legal Help

A 41-year-old resident of San Nicola la Strada was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of the Caserta Company, held responsible for the crimes of mistreatment against family members or cohabitants, threats and carrying weapons or objects capable of offending.

The intervention of the military was triggered following a request for help received at the emergency number 112 due to a violent family dispute. Once on site, the police tracked down the man immediately after he had threatened to kill and attacked his 38-year-old cohabiting wife, also using a baseball bat. The episode took place in the presence of the youngest daughter, a circumstance which further aggravated the accusation.

Subsequent investigations revealed that what happened was not an isolated incident. The military have in fact reconstructed a context of repeated aggressive and oppressive behavior carried out by the man towards the woman starting from December 2024, a period coinciding with the victim’s decision to interrupt the marital relationship. Previously, the woman had never filed a complaint for similar incidents.

At the end of the formalities, the 41-year-old was taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere district house, where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authority awaiting the validation hearing.
