NEC Nijmegen flies to Marbella, Spain on Sunday for a five-day training camp. The club announces this through its own channels. There, Dick Schreuder’s team will continue to prepare for the second half of the season.
The training camp is remarkable, considering that the Eredivisie started again on Saturday. However, the second half of the season for NEC starts later than planned. After the home match against FC Utrecht was postponed on Friday due to the persistent winter weather, the away match in the KNVB Cup with De Treffers was also moved a week. That is why the second half of the season for NEC does not start until a week later when they visit NAC Breda.
Until then, NEC will stay in Marbella, Spain. The Nijmegen selection will fly to Spain on Sunday to complete a five-day training camp and will fly back on Thursday. The away match against NAC Breda is scheduled for Saturday evening. Kick-off takes place in the Rat Verlegh Stadium at 9 p.m.
Schreuder’s team initially did not go to training camp, because the preparation period would be too short. “If we had not had our first match next Friday, we would have gone. Then you would have been assured of better conditions,” said the coach. at the time.
